The Lenten Journey Continues
Some compare Lent, our preparation for Easter, to Advent: our preparation, anticipation, and expectation for Christmas.
Spiritual disciplines are urged to be renewed, honed and practiced: prayer, searching the scriptures, Holy Communion, regular attendance at worship, fasting, and increased acts of charity. These are all preparations for the festal joy of Easter, most often in April, so we may walk in the light of God's countenance. Thus, we proclaim our strength, our rock, our deliverer, our refuge, our shield, our stronghold, and our salvation in Jesus Christ, our Lord.
